Pastor Tony is  visionary leader that sees every believer as a missionary and every home as a mission field, thus fulfilling  the Great Commission. Tony Harris was called  to pastor Highland Avenue Baptist Church in 2014, and the church has been actively growing under his leadership. Pastor Tony Harris is a native of Cincinnati and attended the notable Cincinnati Academy of Physical Education (C.A.P.E) High School. He grew up under the preaching of the late Civil Rights Leader, Fred Shuttlesworth Sr. and was baptized by him as a youth. He fully surrendered his life to Christ at the age of 21 after serving in the military. He and his wife are Navy Veterans of the Persian Gulf War, Tony graduated college from Liberty University with a Bachelors of Arts in Religion, Master of Arts in Church Ministries and a Master of Divinity in Chaplaincy and is currently working towards completing his Doctoral studies.

Reverend Harris has over 21 years of pastoral experience,  he served as youth Pastor at New Berean Baptist Church in Portsmouth Virginia under the inspirational leadership of Reverend Leroy Ricks Sr. He has served as a missionary church planter, a missionary to a Kenyan congregation and served as the Outreach Pastor to a local multi-cultural and International church where he was ordained under the pastoral ministry of Dr. Joseph Paturi of India. He has  served as staff Chaplain to The University of Cincinnati Medical Center for the past several years.

Tony has answered the clarion call to share Gods message of hope and salvation, fulfilling the great commission with strong emphasis on multi- cultural ministry; promoting unity in the body of Christ. Tony has been married to the love of his life Samantha for 27 yrs. and together they have three children, Darius (US Navy), Jair, and Destiny. He loves fitness/sports, worshiping with his family, singing, performing dramatic poetry, and is often asked to perform the speeches of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with familiar style and tone. His favorite verse is Joshua 1:9

Be strong and courageous, do not be fearful nor dismayed for the lord your God is with you wherever you go.
